Mayfair Composition Doll Birthstone 1945
Offering this wonderful vintage Mayfair / Gardel Industries composition birthstone doll, stands 5 1/2 inches tall, circa 1945. One piece body with strung arms; hand painted facial features with side glancing eyes and wavy auburn mohair wig. Dressed in an ivory satin gown with lovely intricate lace ruffle, pale blue felt flowers (which match her bonnet) and two birthstone buttons on bodice - look to be faux turquoise. Muslin pantaloons and painted on black shoes. No markings. Good+++ condition, no cracks or chips, clean. A lovely doll for your collection and enjoyment! Storybook Doll Composition Black Hair Lace Outfit
Offering this lovely little vintage composition Storybook Doll, measuring 8 inches tall, immoveable head, body, and legs are made of composition, jointed arms are hard plastic. She has raven black mohair wig, still nicely curled; hand painted red lips and bright blue side glancing eyes. She is wearing a dark peach silky grosgrain dress with soft ivory lace bodice and trim around skirt. A worn white silk rose is attached to her wrist. Her green felt hat has a pie crust edging. Doll is in good+++ condition, no cracks or chips; outfit is very good, no holes, two teeny specks inside a fold on the skirt, material on skirt has slight fading on folds, nothing detracting; felt hat has 4 tiny pin holes.
