Circa: Late 1800's Condition: used Manufacturer: NOBLES MFG. CO.
Offering that hard to find early adjustable handle draw knife clearly stamped 'NOBLES MFG. CO. 8'. It has an early patent style of adjustable handle that lock into about any position the user would want (about 30 positions of rotation). The gear tooth design allows this, and are worn slightly on this knife, but still very affective. The knife edge was sharpened with a slight lower angle than original, this explains why the angle is seen back further than it should be. It still is sharp and cuts well. The handles are solid hardwood with brass furrules, very firm. There is a small grain splits in the handle, but in great shape for a tool over 100 years old. The cutting blade is about 8" wide. A nice collectible tool overall! |
