Offering this beautiful 1860 engraving of the world's best loved author Charles Dickens, wonderfully detailed, excellent capture of his facial expression! under the matting, Although it can't be seen with this size matting, the title line under the portrait engraving reads "engraved with steel plate, for "Eclectic" by George E Perine, New York". Set in triple matting of cream, burgundy, and light gray, set in a handsome black finished vintage wood frame. Protective glass covering and wire hanger on back. Overall measures 10 1/2" x 8 1/2", engraving as viewed is 6 3/4" x 4 3/4". Fine condition on engraving, no holes, tears, or stains, frame is very good. A must have for any Dickens collector, a great piece of history! |
