Robinson Ransbottom Pottery aka RRP Roseville

Robinson Ransbottom, aka RRP Roseville Pottery Co., of Roseville, Ohio. RRP started in business before 1900, and has just recently gone out of business. They were one of American's great old pottery companies that made stoneware, spongeware, art pottery, vases, planters, birdbath inserts, dinnerware, cookie jars, etc. All RRP is collectible, especially now that they have closed. Their pottery is heavy, well-made, attractive, durable, affordable, and quite functional. Check my Kitchen Collectibles categories for more great RRP items!

RRP Roseville as it is commonly known, is not the same as the Roseville Pottery Co.; they were two separate companies, both formerly doing business in Roseville, Ohio, and both companies are now out of business.

Lay people tend to lump them together, but they are not the same. Roseville Pottery tended to produce more decorative and expensive Art Pottery, while RRP Roseville tended to produce more utilitarian items, although, they also produced some Art Pottery.

rrp20406

Huge Ransbottom Jardinaire and Pedestal For sale is a gorgeous large Robinson Ransbottom jardinaire and pedestal. 2 items, one price!. RRP is no longer in business. Magnificent jard and ped made by the RRP Roseville Pottery Co., made from an old Weller Pottery mold; the book specifies this. RRP bought out Weller when it went out of business in the 1940's. The jard and ped are in good condition, just some minor crazing on interior of jard, and two clay separation/shrinkage lines near bottom of pedestal which happens during firing at the factory. The jard is 12.5 wide x 11 high; the pedestal stands 21 tall; and when jard is on top of pedestal, it is 31.5 high altogether. The jard has incised mark: RRP Co., Roseville, Ohio #421, just like the book indicates! Great indoors or out! Tip: secure jard onto the pedestal with floral goop or double sided tape, that way it won't tip over if you accidentaly bump it. PS: If this were marked 'Weller' instead of 'RRP', the price would be about $1200-1800. Shipping in two boxes to continental USA destinations only due to size and weight! dd-au-1/4-cc-V

Vintage RRP Flower Jardinaire For sale is a vintage Robinson Ransbottom jardinaire. c:1939-1947. RRP is no longer in business. Good sized, heavy-duty, matte white jardiniare with faint incised mark on bottom, (shown on pg. 43 of the book by S. Skillman). Has a raised flower design, a drainage hole, and one tight 1.5 inch hairline on top area but no chips. It is 6.5 tall x 7.75 wide. The hairline is very, very tight, (seal with some superglue). This pattern is harder to find than other RRP's. Perfect to use or display, indoors or out! You can turn it upside down and use it as a pedestal for another pot too!

Vintage Robinson Ransbottom Jardinaire For sale is a large vintage Robinson Ransbottom jardinaire. It is stoneware with a blend of light chartreuse green with pale aqua around top even though it looks tan in the pictures, it is chartreuse. Called the 'Four Seasons' jard. All over crazing, some glaze gouges and one area on bottom rim which is about to flake off. I am going to put a bead of superglue on that to seal it and prevent any future breakage. If you have a room with green, this is the perfect jard to display a large plant. Bottom incised mark: #1420 USA 9. It is 9 wide x 8 tall. This is a hard to find item; I don't think RRP made a lot of this pattern because this is the lst one I have come across and I handle and buy tons of pottery. countant-cs-r3/09;sldts3/09
