Antique Patented Cast Iron Footstool For sale is an antique patented cast iron footstool. Age est: late 1800's. Incised mark on interior sides: W. H. Howell Co., Geneva ILL, Pat. Applied for. Solid, sturdy stool. The metal has a tad of rust, but is not bad. Some paint loss on the feet and shield motif. Very heavy, well-made, and easy to reupholster. I put this fabric over the original but you can easily replace it. Needlepoint, velvet, silk, would be very nice on this stool. The original fabric was velvet, but it is grungy and threadbare. You could also spray paint the metal white for a shabby chic look or any other color. This stool stands 9 tall x 14 long. One picture shows it with a different fabric swatch over it just to give you some ideas. These old ones are hard to find in decent usable condition. It will last another couple of lifetimes. Antique Tole Painted Sad Iron For sale is an antique tole painted sad iron. It has a raised star symbol and #7 on it. It also has tole painting on handle and bottom. Unfortunately the beautiful painting on the bottom is 70% worn off. A great item to use as a doorstop; on the laundry room shelf; or in the garden. Iron Christmas Tree Stand For sale is an iron Christmas tree stand. Very solid, heavy. It is in vintage looking, but usable condition to hold a big live tree! Stand is 14 x 14 inches; interior is 6.25 across or 20.5 inches around. You can re-spray paint it another color. Interior of stand has a rust residue, (presumably from watering the x-mas tree). Vintage Matchsafe and Trivet For sale is a vintage matchsafe and trivet. Great vintage cross collectibles: Tobacciana and Kitchen Collectible! One is a painted cast iron matchsafe, it has strikers on the sides and bottom, and an eyelet for hanging. The other is a painted trivet, similar colors. The trivet is 8 long x 4 wide. The matchsafe is about 4 wide by about 4.5 long. It has some rust on the interior of it, and a bit of rust on the exterior. According to my book on trivets, the hand-painted ones were made around the 1950's & earlier. I included some pics of a mansion in Indian Village, Detroit, (from Hour magazine), that had a great trivet display over the fireplace! The matchsafe looks much older than the trivet.

Rare Miniature Cast Iron Cornstick Pan For sale is a rare miniature cast iron cornstick pan. It has alternating stalk and cob ends; two eyeholes. This one is only 8 long x 4 wide, (might be a salesman's sample or child size). This pan has an incised #4 on backside and does have some rust as you can see. Antiques Roadshow, 2/12/05 show, had a section on 'corn collectibles', and said these small cast iron cornstick pans are rare.

Patented Antique L. F.&. C. Universal Food Grinder For sale is a patented antique L. F.& C. Universal food grinder. c:1897-1900. #3 Universal Food Chopper/grinder, New Britain, Conn., USA. This grinder has a hardwood handle and 4 extra grinder parts. Pat. Oct. 12, 1897; Apr. 18, 1899; Sept. 5, 1899, and various other dates. It appears to be working; some age and wear as expected. Handle has one large 'burn' area, but you can paint the handle a flat black or other color to refurbish it. It likely had paint on it at one time. Very heavy, feels like solid iron! Great to attach to your countertop or Hoosier cabinet, and make some baby food, grind meat, dog food, etc.! (hardly ever find these with the extra parts!). 6/05sadoau-MCret

Cast Iron Fish Mold For sale is a cast iron fish mold. Cool mold. It does not appear to be old, (it was purchased at an estate sale and not everything is old at estate sales). I was going to make some homemade soaps with it but never got around to it, so here it is! It just has a bit of rust, but not much. It is 11.75 long x 4.5 wide. You can also use it to cook in, e.g., cornbread if you season the pan first. (Some of the pics are just for your perusal and have nothing to do with this mold).
