Hyalyn Porcelain/Pottery Co., Hickory, North Carolina. Only in business from 1943-1973. Started pottery production in 1946; founder had worked for Abingdon Pottery Co., which is why the pottery is so similar to Abingdon pottery. The pottery is considered vitreous, non-porous, and non-absorbant. It is durable, functional and beautiful pottery. Serious collectors have already started accumulating this great pottery, and in 10 years, you probably won't be able to afford it, so get it while you can! Earliest pieces are marked with a capital H, (Hyalyn); later pieces are marked with small [h] (hyalyn), usually in an oval.

Click for more detail... hya06062	Hyalyn Pottery Pitcher For sale is a vintage Hyalyn Pottery pitcher. c.1943-1973. Nice pitcher with strawberries on it, very similar to the McCoy pitchers put out in the 1950's-60's. It is marked: #905, and 'hyalyn' in an oval, and USA under the oval. (see Lehner's book of marks). This pitcher is in very good condition, no chips or cracks, just one tiny irregular clay spot near the spout, but it is glazed, and is not chipped. This pitcher measures 6 high x 3.35 wide.
