Antique Portrait Plate
For sale is an antique Dresden China portrait plate. c.1882-1927. (The Potters Co-operative Co.); see pg. 60, mark 16 in Lehner's Book of Marks for a better view of the mark. This plate is quite old as you can see in the pictures, but the face of this lady is still quite stunning! (Marie Antoinette I presume). Backside is very discolored and is backstamped: 'Dresden China'. This plate is 10.25 wide w/no chips or cracks; some scratches, and does have a lot of crazing, and worn areas mostly around rim. Quite pretty despite the aging flaws. It would really be beautiful hung in a bedroom or powder room, or anywhere you like to display your pretty antique plates, framed or unframed! Especially nice in a Victorian style home!
Circa: 1882-1927
Type: antique portrait plate
Manufacturer: The Pottery's Cooperative Co.

This platter is 13.75 x 10 inches. It has some flaws: all over crazing, and is quite discolored on the backside; also has a small chip on backside rim which barely permeates front.
