Type: norton pottery Manufacturer: Norton Pottery
Pastel green Norton Pottery planter. Cool retro heavy-duty planter with incised mark: Norton USA 313. It looks just like a McCoy item. The only Norton I can find in Lehner's is Ann Norton of Clay Craft Studios; and F.B. Norton Pottery, which would be too early for this item; and Norton & Fenton, also too early. Clay Craft is a possibility. Or, perhaps there was an short-lived offshoot company of McCoy or Morton Pottery. This vase/planter is in excellent condition and is 10.5 long x 4 wide x 3 high. It is heavier than a comparable Abingdon vase, which as you know, is one of the heaviest old potteries out there. Age est:1930's-50's. |
