Circa: 1800's Manufacturer: S. Fielding & Co.
Antique Staffordshire tea biscuit jar. This Victorian era jar has incised EPNS Made in England on lid, electroplated nickel silver, aka silver plate. This jar looks small in the pics, but it is a good size jar. The bottom is backstamped in brown: With Peek, Frean & Co's Compliments, crown symbol, S.F. & Co. England, and an initial; and there is a raised square with a number in it = S. Fielding & Co., Stoke, Staffordshire. No chips or cracks; but does have some crazing. The floral design appears to be transferware with some hand painting. It stands 6 tall; top rim is 4.5 wide. There is some wear on the upper metal rim, but overall, this item is in 'good antique' condition. A delightful jar for your collection!
