The 28th Division is the oldest Division in the US armed forces. They were names the "Iron Division" by General Pershing for their fierce combat abilities in battles of 1918. This unit had 14,000 casualities. This pin was worn by those happy to have this valiant unit home in Penna. after the war ended in 1918. The silk ribbon on the pin is quite frayed, but retain the bright colors of the flag.
