Manufacturer: Not known - American Here is a lovely mid Victorian brooch. It has a large amethyst and is surrounded with small clear natural stones, but not diamonds.

The openwork edges have white enamel, some of which is chipped. It is 1 1/8" across. The clasp is the "C" clasp typical of the mid 1800s. The pin is hinged with a barrel shaped fastening, very unusual. The metal is nonmagnetic, and is either a rolled gold or gold filled metal . In all, a pretty piece of jewelry, from long ago. |
