| The Standing Liberty Quarter (1916-1930) originally sported a design of a partially nude Liberty, but public outcry over the indecency of the design led to a design modification covering the breast in early 1917. The design also had mint problems with the dates and designs being weakly or poorly struck. Coins in the higher grades are extreamly rare. Specs: WT: 6.25g; Composition: .900 silver, .100 copper; Diameter: 24.3mm, reeded edge; Mints: P, D, NO, SF. This recessed date variety is in EF-40 (extreamly fine) condition showing flattening only on high spots, sharp toes and drapery lines across legs are evident. |
