Avon Cape Cod Pitcher THE 1876 CAPE COD COLLECTION

The pitcher of the 1876 Cape Cod Collection is reminiscent of the early American pressed glass called " Sandwich Glass ". It featured lacy, intricate designs, fine background stippling, and exquisite brilliance which reflected the suberp craftsmanship of its makers.

Many of the detailed designs of this prized glass were produced by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Works founded on Cape Cod in 1825. Other companies in the region competed, but the popularity of " Sandwich " pieces resulted in the name becoming a generic term for pressed glass.

This unique Avon 1876 Cape Cod Collection was inspired by the classic Roman Rosette pattern. The collection name commemorates both the spirit of the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and Cape Cod, the area where Sandwich glass originated.

This 60 oz 8-1/4" tall ruby red glass pitcher is in its original box!

Avon 1985 Terra Cotta Rooster Kitchen Mold Set This is a great collectible set by AVON in 1985. It consists of a small " Grape Mold " and a potpourri Rooster.

The grape Mold measures 4" x 3" x 1" and is marked Weiss inside as well as a disclaimer NOT to actually use with food stuff.

The Rooster has some white circular potpourri inside, a plastic stopper and measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".
