Nevil Shute - PASTORAL - First Edition One site had to say: "Now is an extremely good time to start a Nevil Shute collection. Although prices have about doubled in the last few years, his titles are still relatively modest in comparison with other "hot" authors. However, since prices are increasing about 30% per year, delay will be costly."

Book Description: New York: William Morrow and Company, 1944. Cloth. Very Good condition with only corners bumped, for a wartime book the binding is exceptionally tight and good. Hardcover tan cover with dark red & green lettering and designs. No dust jacket. 246 pages. William Morrow and Company/New York FIRST EDITION 1944, prev. owner's bookplate on inside front cover. It is the oldest story in the world, told with such freshness that it will recapture for its readers the heart of youth. PASTORAL is a happy book, filled with the glow and discovery of young love.

New York - William Morrow - 1960. First Edition - American. Near fine with a very slight trace of darkening to the boards. Much better than usually found. Last novel by the popular and bestselling author best remembered for the near-future disaster tale ON THE BEACH. Nevil Shute Norway (1899-1960), combined writing with work as an aeronautical engineer, specializing in Zeppelins. This story is of the guardian of a l0-year old girl who begins a search for a lost treasure in diamonds that went down in a shipwreck with the girl's parents. A heartwarming story, filled with the goodness and best capabilities of man.
