Antique Letter Opener with Jewish Rabbi. 16 inches.
Antique wooden object ( probably a letter opener ) with a Rabbi as grip
It measures 16" in length. ( the handle is 5,8 inches, the blade 10,2 inches long ). The head is of different material with 2 eyes of red glass, looking like rubies. The grp and the blade are made of 2 different kinds of wood.
The physiognomy is exaggerated.

Wachtel was born in Lemberg and worked in Vienna. Divided back postcard, published by Kohn Brothers in Vienna, marked B.K.W.I. 198/5. Artist signed postcard: Wilh. Wachtel 1917.
