Two Vintage Hankies - Roses! - One Blue, One Red Two beautiful hankies in excellent condition. Both have lovely roses in a diagonal pattern with a white background and a border, although the patterns are different from each other. The hanky with the blue roses still has its label that reads "Hand Painted", but I think the design is printed, with hand-painted accents. Machine-overcast edges. Each hanky measures 14 1/2 inches by 14 1/2 inches. Wonderful decorating touch - perhaps you could line a basket or make them into pillows...?

Lot of 2 White Vintage Handkerchiefs with Openwork Design Both of these vintage hankies have a pulled-thread openwork design. One resembles a fleur-de-lis and the other looks like tulips. Vintage Handkerchief with Crocheted Butterfly A lovely pineapple pattern crocheted butterfly adorns one corner of this vintage hanky. The border has a narrow crocheted edging in the same variegated yellow and pink thread used for the butterfly. Hanky measures 11.25 inches square and is in very good condition.

Two White Vintage Hankies One has lace around the edge and hemstitching detail; the other has embroidered grapes on all four corners. The lace-edged one measures 10 1/4 by 10 3/8 inches and is in good condition. The lace is machine-made. The embroidered one measures 10 by 10 1/2 inches and has some darkening along the edges, visible in the scans. Judging by the reverse side, at least part of the grape design is hand-embroidered. Circa mid-twentieth century.

Set of 3 Swiss Hankies in Original Box Three white cotton hankies with machine-embroidered floral designs - 1 pink, 1 blue, and 1 dark green. Never unfolded and removed from box. Excellent condition, although the pink and blue ones each have a floral applique that seems to be lifting off a bit now. I did not unfold them, but I measured the dark green one, and allowing for the fold, it would measure 10 3/4 inches. Original box lid with mountain scene shown - - box shows some wear; corners have split. Each hanky has a paper label that reads "Cotton Sheer Made In Switzerland" with the initial F in the center of the label. Circa mid-twentieth century.

Vintage Hanky With Exquisite Rose Motif Lace Edge This white hanky is trimmed with scallops of machine-made lace that have a rose design in the center of each scallop. Hanky measures 10 3/4 by 11 inches. Good condition, circa mid-twentieth century. The edges of three of the scallops have very slight discoloring, barely noticeable under household light - - you can see it in the scanned closeup image here.

Vintage Floral Print Handkerchief with Tatted Edging Vintage hanky has a soft floral print in pink, blue, green and white. The border has a narrow tatted edging in light blue and white thread. Hanky measures 12.5 inches square and is in fair to good condition; the fabric is rather thin and has one small hole. The edging has come loose in two tiny places (see close-ups).
