Dramatic, glamorous, magnificent! Huge rhinestones are featured at the center of this goldtone buckle, with smaller round rhinestones arranged at the edges and corners. The four central pear-shaped stones measure 18mm by 13mm each, and the entire buckle measures 3 inches by 3 inches.
Stones are bright and lively, glued in, and the back of the buckle is smooth and goldtone. I believe this piece is 1930s Czech, judging by the design and the finish on the back. It's in good condition - the stones are super - the finish shows wear and one of the belt-fasteners on the back is broken where it attaches to the buckle, so it can't be used as a buckle unless you can repair this. It can still be used in a collage, as a pin or pendant (with some findings added), or do what I did: just place it on a shelf an admire it as an art object! I think it would be wonderful added to a jewelry box lid or evening bag.
