Three strands of gorgeous, heavy, faceted beads are connected by gold-colored metal chain and accented with bead caps. The beads are heavier than typical glass beads, so I believe they are crystal. Vendome was the Coro company's high-quality line, so these beads are surely quality beads.
The details of the necklace speak quality also: the hook is fashioned into a graceful three-petaled design and the other end has the Vendome fleur-de-lis dangling charm. Notice the petal design on the beautiful endpieces that connect the strands. Not your typical three-strand mid-century beaded necklace!
The beads are smoky golden brown in color - - almost root beer or dark amber - - with an aurora borealis finish. This finish shows a little wear in places; otherwise the necklace is in excellent condition. One of the beads and its bead caps are a little bit loose because the crimp bead that holds them has moved. They are NOT in danger of coming off; they just slide a little bit on the chain. Very minor, but I want to mention it.
My pictures cannot show how beautifully the beads sparkle as they move. Exquisite! Necklace adjusts from 17 1/2 to 19 1/2 inches.
