Fully-lined sleeveless top has a jewel neckline and a full-length metal zipper in back. Bust and waist darts provide feminine shaping. Blouse comes only to about the waistline (measures about 18 1/2 inches in length) and has two short slits at the waist in front.
The front of the neckline is trimmed with pearlized glass beads and clear silver-lined round beads and bugle beads. These are NOT the common tiny "seed beads" that you usually find on beaded clothing; these beads are a bit larger and rounder than seed beads. The beaded design is three-dimensional in places, forming a raised floral design. The silver lining has darkened a bit over time, making the interior of the beads almost the color of hematite or marcasite. Despite the darkening, the beadwork is still very lovely.
There are no labels in this top. Please check the measurements carefully and compare them to a top or blouse that fits you. The bust measures 41 inches lying flat and pulled a little. The shoulder width is 18 1/4 inches. At the waist, it measure 36 inches. I believe this would be close to a size Large in today's sizing but please check measurements.
This wonderful vintage top is in very good condition. The medium-weight fabric feels like silk or a synthetic, although it is not smooth. The rich blue woven fabric has a slight texture and sheen. I was unable to find a thread to pull off to test for fabric content because this top is finished so thoroughly at all the seams and hems. The lining is a smooth synthetic. The color is best described as royal blue, although in some lights, it leans a little toward teal.
