Chain necklace with seven irregular lightweight discs attached, each almost .75 inch across. Each disc has a carving of a plant or flower on one side and a carved and painted bird on the other. The bird seems to be on the back side and when viewed from the front, each bird appears to be behind or within the plants. There are songbirds, parrots, and a crane or heron. I believe the discs are made of horn. They do not smell like celluloid. They are curved and not perfectly round, even, or flat. The 16.75-inch cable chain appears to be brass and shows wear. The clasp has obviously been replaced as it does not match the necklace at all. Interesting necklace, age unknown.
Buyer pays $3.25 for insured first class shipping/handling in the U.S. International customers, please contact me for rates.
