Selections from Aunt Sammy’s Radio Recipes and USDA Favorites (1976) – In 1926, the USDA Bureau of Home Economics and the Radio Service created the character of Aunt Sammy, who was said to be the wife of Uncle Sam. Menus and recipes were the highlights of Aunt Sammy’s radio show, which faded out after the Great Depression in 1934. Booklet contains recipes from the 1920s as well as some from the 1970s.
