Unusual purse was crocheted from ivory rayon crochet thread with stripes of metallic gold and wooden and metal bead trim. Bottom is translucent amber-colored plastic in a slightly conical shape. Unlined vintage purse measures 9 inches across the top when open and about 7 inches from the top edge to the plastic base. The plastic base is 6 inches in diameter. Drawstrings have patterned goldtone tips on their ends. Goldtone metal beads around the top edge are very attractive when the drawstrings are pulled closed. Excellent condition. Difficult to date as it is a handcrafted item but I am guessing mid-twentieth century.
