Wooden box has a primitive cat face on the front with two metal eyes and painted features. Made to hold matches, the box’s cat tail has a hole so that it can hang from a nail on the wall. Shabby, used condition. Wood on bottom is split a little bit (see photos). Overall, box measures 10.25 inches high by almost 4.25 inches across. Charming, although very well-worn, this piece probably dates from the mid-twentieth century, judging from the style and the amount of wear.
