OLD STERL GOLD PERUVIAN INCAN GOD VIRACOCHA BROOCH
Measures about 1 5/8" diameter. Very unusual with amazing detail. South American motif, I first thought this was Aztec or Mayan or some sort of S.American Indian diety, then I was educated by a helpful person who informed me that this was actual an Incan Indian piece and showed the god, Viracocha.
Sterling silver with stamped 18K overlay. Bale on the back to wear as a pendant if desired. Circa 1940s or 50s. Heavy and well made, warm unpolished patina, great condition.
According to what I learned online, the supreme deity of the Incas was Viracocha.
"Legends of the Aymara Indians say that the Creator God Viracocha rose from Lake Titicaca during the time of darkness to bring forth light. Viracocha was a storm god and a sun god who was represented as wearing the sun for a crown, with thunderbolts in his hands, and tears descending from his eyes as rain. He wandered the earth disguised as a beggar and wept when he saw the plight of the creatures he had created.
Viracocha made the earth, the stars, the sky and mankind, but his first creation displeased him, so he destroyed it with a flood and made a new, better one, taking to his wanderings as a beggar, teaching his new creations the basics of civilization, as well as working numerous miracles. Viracocha eventually disappeared across the Pacific Ocean (by walking on the water), and never returned. It was thought that Viracocha would re-appear in times of trouble."

VINTAGE MEXICAN STERLING SILVER ARTIST SIGNED DOME RING
Mid century adjustable ring, apprx size 6 to 6.5, though easily sized automatically up or down a size or two. Ring is signed sterling silver and also with the artist's initials which look like "JRA". Under the initials is another word, but I cannot make it out.
Ring has a dome that is comprised of a filigree like ball and wire design, measures about 3/4" diameter and is a bit over 3/8" tall. Very nice looking ring.
Dark unpolished patina, very good vintage condition, nice weight.

UNIQUE 900 SILV PERUVIAN INCAN TOTEM BRACELET
Weighing nearly 75 grams and consisting of 6 individually handmade unusual links, this Latin American bracelet looks to date to the early 1900s and originate either in Mexico or more likely South America. It measures about 7 1/8" long and is nearly 1 1/4" wide, and it is marked on the back of the clasp ""0900", a grade slightly less than sterling.
Unlike any I've had in the past, the bracelet has 5 different figures, one on each link, that appear to be totems or gods of some sort. Each one is individually crafted from silver and hand soldered onto the link. I suppose taht rather than Peruvian, these could be Incan or Mexican, and I welcome any insight as to the history of these figures.
On one of the middle links is a shield with an eagle and other Patriotic type symbols, and bordering each of the six links is a variation of the Grecian or Greek key design, a design seen in many cultures around the world. The back of the bracelet is smooth,as this is NOT a thin stamped out piece. A safety chain is also still present and is easily removed if you prefer.
In excellent condition, the bracelet appears to be all original and free from damage or repair. It's well made and very different and sure to appeal to anyone who loves Latin and Mexican jewels!! With a rich UNPOLISHED patina and its fine artisan craftmanship, don't let this fine piece get away.

AWESOME VINTAGE MEXICAN SILVER TURQUOISE EARRINGS
Straight from a local estate collection is this wonderful vintage pair of screw back earrings (easily converted into pierced by a competent jeweler) from the 1940s or 50s, in my estimation. Measuring approximately 1 1/4" tall by 7/8" wide, these impressive pieces are stamped "SILVER MEXICO" on the backs.
The earrings are comprised of lovely (Sterling) silver designed with nice curvy lines, each with a round cabachon stone gypsy mounted into the center. The stones are a nice green color, and I assume theyr're turquoise, though I guess they could be a sort of jade or jadeite. They are definitely a natural semi precious stone, NOT glass or synthetic.
In excellent, mint to near mint condition, the stones are secure and mechanisms functional. They're free of damage or repair and ready to wear with your silver and turquoise Mexican and Native American Indian jewelry!

NICE VINTAGE MEXICAN SODALITE INLAY RETRO AZTEC BROOCH
From a recent estate purchase comes this distinctive antique mid century Mexican silver signed brooch from the 1950s or so. Measuring about 2" in diameter, this round pin is signed with several sought after hallmarks. It is stamped "MEXICO" and "TAXCO MEXICO 925". It also has intials that are difficult to discern... "CPR"? Plus there is an EAGLE mark with a "3" in it sure.
The brooch is a circle shape with brass overlay in an Aztec inspired zig zag retro geometric design over the sterling silver. Inlaid around the brass is a rich blue that appears to be sodalite with perhaps a little turquoise, azurite, or malachite mixed in. I am unsure, but it looks to be predominantly a lapis blue. It's truly a striking piece!
In excellent condition, the brooch is free of damage or repair and is functional and secure. It has a nice safety clasp and would be a great compliment to any collection of tribal, Southwestern, South American or Mexican jewelry!

ANTIQUE 800 SILVER HUGE BAUBLE JEWELED CHARMS BRACELET
Straight from my private collection where it's been for over a decade is this fabulous bauble or charm bracelet with large detailed charms. Dating to the early to mid 1900s, I believe this is early Mexican jewellery I've seen over the years, but the Victorian inspired Etruscan styled filigree work reminds me of Mid Eastern and Indian pieces...maybe even an old European piece.
The bracelet measures about 8" to 8 1/4" long, making it suitable for a medium to large woman's wrist. It is stamped on the clasp with a silver hallmark that is not sterling, but rather an older "800" mark. The link to the bracelet is a very interesting and unusual design with oval sections with 3 raised ball or beads, the center one slightly larger than the two flanking beads. The backside of the beads have little seams that look as if they were each handcrafted.
In between each link are hooks for the charms. There are six figural baubles that are in varying geometric shapes with raised wire work and art glass "jewels" adorning them. Each charm is large, ranging from about 1 1/4" long to about 3/4" long. They're very three dimensional and jangly! There's a pyramid shaped dangle, a cube, and other great shapes.
The gems are made to simulate lapis lazuli, Carnelian, Turquoise, Coral, and Jade. The clasp is an original and unique buckle type clasp, and the entire piece has a wonderful rich dark patina that I am leaving in AS FOUND, UNPOLISHED condition. The charms themselves are not marked, but I do believe they are silver. The bracelet, IS guaranteed to be at least 800, and the charms, though unmarked, show NO signs of any base metal whatsover.
The bracelet is in very good condition, free of damage or repair and all original. It would be mint except for one small apology. ONE charm is missing ONE of its little stones...it would be VERY inexpensive (under $5) easy to find a small round flat backed cabachon glass or real gemstone replacement as it's only about 7.5 mm in diameter. Any color would do.
