RARE VICTORIAN BRISTOL GLASS VASE w BUTTERFLY & BIRD This impressive piece measures about 12 1/2" tall, over 7" at its widest point, and is 3" diamter at its lip and 3 1/2" at the bottom. It has a very nice bulbous shape, and I've been told that it dates back about 100 years or so to the late Victorian era. I purchased it from a very old and prominant estate over 15 years ago. I'm not an expert on glass, but I've been told it is a rare example of Bristol glass. I've seen this type of piece listed in many different categories including North Amercian art glass, English art glass, and milk and opaque glass.

The vase is simply exquisite! It appears to be some sort of milk glass or other opaque glass that has a beige painted surface. On the bottom, it is concave, so I am not sure if that is considered a pontil mark from being hand blown or now; a "15." is hand painted in the center.

Beautifully hand decorated, this is not your run-of-the-mill MIJ (made in Japan) art, but rather a very nice quality of enamelled painting in vibrant colors of blue, purple, lavender, yellow, green, pink, and orange. It shows exotic flowers, a nicely detailed bird, and a sweet butterfly on one side with a couple of cascading flowers adorning the other. This is not cold painted and the paint is very thick and raised from the glass with a glossy finish and incredible quality to its colors. The rim has a band of brown around it.

Free of chips, cracks, damage, or repair, the fabulous decorative accessory shows no paint loss or fading. I welcome any more information on this piece and would love to know if it had a particular artist or manufacturer. The graceful shape and appealing artistry will make this a wise item to invest in and enjoy!  

ANTIQUE CZECH RUFFLED ENAMELED HAND BLOWN WATER PITCHER Apprx 9 1/2" tall, late 1800s, early 1900s, probably Czechoslovakian, unsure. Lovely ruffled lip with a light purple overglaze and hand painted enamel decorations. Pontil mark on the bottom quite pronounced, hand blown glass, hand applied handle. From a local estate.

Excellent vintage condition with some minimal rubbing of the gold accents. No maker's mark. Lovely natural imperfections in the glass with little bubbles. A must for any serious collector.  

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MILK GLASS HEART SHAPED DRESSER PIN TRAY DISH From my own collection, late 1800s early 1900s antique dish or tray, about 5 1/8" wide and 5" deep, number "70" on the bottom, molded glass, ornate raised Victorian design, very sweet, very good vintage condition.  

ANTIQUE BLACK AMETHYST GLASS VICTORIAN NOUVEAU WOMEN LOVING CUP Black amethyst glass, early 1900s, wonderful workmanship, old glass, purple if you hold it to the light but otherwise looks black, double handled, about 7" high and 6" wide, very good vintage condition. Lovely raised design on two art nouveau styled women on a heart shaped background.
