ANTIQUE WALLACE STERLING CELLULOID BABY RATTLE Nice old baby rattle, circa 1940s or so, about 3" tall, stamped sterling silver with a "W" that I believe is the Wallace Silver company hallmark. Excellent condition, no damage or repair, belt and buckle motif holds the round celluloid ring. Rattle is simple with little decoration, engraved with monogram initials "LRW", could be buffed out if desired.

RARE UNUSUAL 1943 WEBSTER STERLING BAKELITE BABY RATTLE This adorable baby rattle is made by the WEBSTER COMPANY and is made of stamped sterling silver and instead of the usual celluloid or mother of pearl, the ring is green bakelite. The rattle is in the shape of a bell and is engraved with the birth record and name of a child named "Darwin Bayne Palmer Jr" who was born in 1943. The ring is GREEN Bakelite and the rattle is about 3" long. Great condition!

UNUSUAL SILVER 1941 COLUMBIAN COIN EMERALD SALT SPOON Brilliant little collectible from Columbia. Apprx 2.5" long, end has a figural Incan diety with what appears to be a genuine crude natural emerald set in it.

Made from an actual 1941 coin, shaped into a little spoon, twisted silver handle.

Marked Plata 900 on the back.

Delightful, excellent condition.

 

STERLING SILVER ANTIQUE ALVIN NUT DISH BON BON BOWL Apprx 4 3/8" diameter at the top, sits about 2 1/2" high, stamped ALVIN STERLING Y12H on the bottom. Circa 1920s-30s or 40s. Substantial weight...approx. 48 grams or almost 2 ounces.

Quaint little dish either for nuts or perhaps bon bons (candy dish). Three little feet, sweet footed miniature bowl.

Overall good vintage condition with minimal wear, does have oxidation and is sold unpolished. Would clean up nicely. I would be happy to polish it if you ask me upon purchase. Some people don't want their antique sterling silver to be polished so I will leave it until then.

ANTIQUE 19th C COIN SILVER SERVING SPOON J.S. ABBOTT What an elegant coin silver piece! From the 19th century, this large serving spoon measures nearly 9" long and has a 3" by 1 3/4" bowl. Beautifully crafted, it is signed by the maker "J.S. ABBOTT" and has faint initials engraved on it that look like "R.P.J."

In very fine condition, the spoon has minimal wear, with gentle use. It has a very small ding in the bowl that is unnoticeable in my opinion, except when held in a certain way in the light or felt carefully by touch. It is otherwise about as perfect as can be expected for a 100+ yr old treasure. I welcome any information on this maker and spoon.

ANTIQUE ART DECO STERLING SILVER CIGARETTE COMPACT 103g Measuring about 4 1/8" by 3 1/8", this solid sterling silver art deco era cigarette compact case dates to the 1930s or 40s. It is stamped sterling on its sprinig loaded interior bar and has a cursive "L" in front of it. That may be LUNT, but I am not 100% sure. It weighs about 3.7 ounces. At the time of this listing, scrap value alone on this is about $80.

The case has classic machined worked lines over the front and back and the initials "D.G.B" in the center. Those could be buffed off if desired.

While this is a cigarette case, it could be used to hold a few dollars or business cards. It's in good condition with expected wear and surface scratches. The push button clasp is secure and tight, and it is free from any damage or repairs.
 

ELEGANT SET 5 GORHAM ART DECO BUTTER KNIVES Lovely set of 5 Gorham sterling 5 3/4" butter knives. Total weight of all 5 butter knives is 5 ounces. Each knife has lovely art deco lines in a pattern similar to Fairfax. I don't know the name of this pattern, however, and would appreciate any information you may care to share with me on it.

The butterknives are each stamped sterling and have been engraved with a monogram "O McD". They are in very good condition with no damage or repair and some surface wear as would be expected. They are all silver, including the blade section. Scrap alone on these is close $100. Lovely set of 5 Gorham sterling 5 3/4" butter knives. Each knife has lovely art deco lines in a pattern similar to Fairfax. I don't know the name of this pattern, however, and would appreciate any information you may care to share with me on it.
 

LUNT STER LITTLE MEN LITTLE WOMEN BABY FORK SPOON SET! This little flatware set was purchased in 1948 for its original owner, who just sold this to me. This pattern was from 1931 originally. Each utensil is about 4 1/8" long and has "S.E.S." engraved on it. It's in its original Tiffany blue colored felt pouch which is marked "Little Men and Little Women Sterling by Lunt". Very good condition with minimal wear

ORNATE ANTIQUE COIN SILVER? BON BON CANDY DISH BOWL Measures about 5 1/2" diameter and a bit over 2" high. Unmarked, I believe it could be coin silver rather than sterling silver, circa late 1800s-early 1900s. Amazingly lovely ornate Victorian design.

From my private collection, I purchased this from an estate many years ago in Atlanta. It is in superb condition, no dings or dents. Sweet design well taken care of. Warm unpolished patina. Weighs about 75 grams.
