4027

ANTIQUE DEPRESSION ERA BOYS CAP IOWA BARN FIND! This terrific Depression era corderoy cap was part of an estate from a farm in Iowa. The adorable model in the photo is my son who is NOT included in this auction, though he IS available for possible movie contracts and sport's endorsements. :~) (Our agent can do lunch with YOUR agent) I'd estimate this to be around the equivalent of a size 6 7/8 hat size based on the fit on my son.

The hat or cap is made of a thick brown cotton corderoy material and has a nice little brim. The inside has a nice plaid flannel lining with some sort of very soft natural black fur to cover the ears and back of the head. In the center above the brim is a small black and brown grosgrain ribbon that's somewhat threadbare.

This is a rare little find that appears handmade and in incredible condition considering the fact that it appears to be from the depression era. I imagine it belonged to a little boy who grew up on a midwest farm. It's definitely a little musty from its many years of storage, but it's in better than expected condition and free of rot or damage. A good cleaning by a professional would be ideal.

4207

1950s VINTAGE CHILD'S DOLL'S PINSTRIPED OVERALLS/SHIRT Straight from a close friend's family estate comes some of the nicest grouping of vintage clothing I've seen in a while. All items are from a smoke-free home and have been laundered and pressed. Most came from her husband's family and belonged to either him (he's in his 50s) or his parents.

This item is a wonderful two piece set made of cotton. It's blue and white pinstriped long overalls and a long sleeved matching shirt. The shirt has a wonderful little embroidered yellow and red sail boat on it and there are snaps for the legs. It appears to be a toddler's size 2.

The set is free of soiling and is nice and soft. In excellent condition, the outfit shows light wear but well taken care of and not abused. It's lovely in every way and would make a great item to clothe your child or doll!!

5471

CHARMING ANTIQUE EUROPEAN CHILD'S BABY DOLL SHOES I bought these in Europe about 6 1/2 yrs ago. I don't know a lot about his charming little pair of shoes, though they appear very old. I believe they were worn by an actual child, though they would be great for doll too.

The shoes are worn and aged, yet in very good, well preserved condition. They are about 5 1/2" by 2" at their widest points. I think they are leather and each one has a little pom pom on the tip and a little strap and buckle. I'd estimate these to date to the late Victorian era to the depression era, circa 1880s-1920s. Any information on this style or origin is greatly appreciated. I bought them in Holland, so they may be Dutch, or perhaps French or Belgian.

6075

ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN GENUINE FUR HANDWARMER MUFF MINK? Ok, first of all, yes this is REAL fur....it is not politically correct. There, I said it. I am unsure of what kind of fur it is...it is black and very, very soft...it could be mink or beaver, I am really unsure. It actually feels soft like rabbit. any ideas?

That said, I have owned it for a bout 25 years and bought it from an estate. It dates to the early 1900s and is a solid 100 years old, give or take a couple of years.

The muff is about 12" wide and has openings on each end to insert your hands. It has a cloth cord on one side to hang it up.

It is in good condition with only minimal splitting in one place, about 5 inches long. It could be restored, and I am selling it as it is. It has satin lining that is in very good condition.

Sold as is, priced accordingly. Lovely to display, and if used, I recommend having it professionally repaired to avoid it splitting more.

5451

LOVELY ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN COTTON CROCHETED PETTICOAT Straight from a close friend's family estate comes some of the nicest grouping of vintage clothing and fabrics I've seen in a while. All items are from a smoke-free home and have been laundered and pressed. Most came from her husband's parents, who were setting up housekeeping in the mid 1940s.

This lovely petticoat is an incredibly soft white brushed cotton. It measures approximately 41" long and has about a 24" waist (wow...JUST my size....yeah, when I was BORN!!) I would date it back to the late Victorian or Edwardian era of the early 1900s, and the attention to detail is exquisite. The petticoat has a tiny waist that could actually be adjusted, in my opinion to make room for a larger size. In fact, since there is no botton or closure, I think that a tie is supposed to be added to make it larger. The skirt flares out beautifully and the bottom is quite nice to say the least. It has several layers of horizontal pleating, then is followed by two different sections of crocheted lace. I am not sure, but I think it's all hand made. There is a second layer at the bottom which makes for a ruffle which peers out from the top section, giving it volume. This could be worn underneath a dress or skirt or worn by itself.

The piece is free of soiling but there is some delicate places at the lace which has some rust stains near the hem. These places have weakened the material, though with a very little TLC, I believe it could be lightly mended and worn with the finest of outfits! It's rare that I find such a pristine piece of vintage clothing, so don't pass up this magnificent!

5452

SEXY VINTAGE BETSEY JOHNSON SILVERY SATIN DRESS GOWN s8 Pictures just don't do this stunning Betsey Johnson slinky silver dress justice! I bought this around the late 1980s to early 90s brand new at the Lenox Square Betsey Johnson store. I have worn it twice, and it has been stored in my smoke free home.

The gown is a size small and fits size 8 (or even a 6 or 10 depending on your build) quite nicely. It is cut on a bias and is slimming, forgiving, and quite flattering. I'm 5'5" and about 130 lbs and a size 8 and it still fits. It would easily fit a taller and/or thinner person. It is about 55-56" long from the top of the shoulder. Three little cloth covered buttons on the back.

Very good condition. Minimal wear, a couple of little pulls on the fabric that you can't see unless scrutinizing the dress closely. VERY sexy on, low back, feels amazing and silky on! NO Reserve! This cost me $120 brand new on sale nearly 20 years ago.

7646

1940s VINTAGE PURPLE FELT FEATHER TILT HAT ORIG by KARO From my private collection, a New York hat original by KARO. Circa 1940s, purple fuschia felt with real dyed bird feathers, sold exactly as found, 2 sets of feathers on one side, 3 on the other, bright and unusual, amazing hat. Truly a rare find. From my collection for over 20 years and never offered online ever before. I bought it in West Virginia.

Perfect to wear or to collect and display. It has some surface dust on it but otherwise is fine. Feathers are delicate and need to be handled with care.
