Just back from an incredible international buying excursion, I will be listing some great items of jewelry and collectibles over the upcoming weeks (and months). This is an absolute treasure!! Measuring 3 1/8" by 2 5/8", this miniature memo book or pad has an original calender in the back page dated 1928. Hand painted on the front is "MEMO" and in raised relief in the center is a colorful parrot (maybe a cockatiel or cockatoo? Some sort of tropical bird).
The book is made with two bright green celluloid sheets held together with two black celluloid rings and small looseleaf notebook paper in it. Most of it is unsued, though a few sheets are written in with pencil. The last page is a dated 1928 miniature calendar, though I couldn't find any advertising or publisher's mark.
In excellent condition, the nice little book is precious and free of damage or repair. It's in excellent condition with expected yellowing and minor wear to the paper, a little cleaning to the front (sticker residue) would be good. Slight warping from the passing of many years has occured, but nothing detracting! I haven't seen anything like this online, so don't miss a chance to make a great addition to your collection of celluloid or bird collectibles. |
