Measuring approximately 2 3/4" by 1 3/4" with a 31" black glass seed bead chain, this authentic flapper era tear drop shaped carved celluloid pendant dates to the 1920s or 30s. It's lacquered and carved in a lovely Edwardian influenced art deco design with a flower in the center. Small clear faceted rhinestones are set into the carved sections.
The striking necklace is in excellent condition and is free of damage or repair with minimal wear. The seed beads are probably original, though I am not 100% sure. There are 5 little strands, though I believe there were 6 at one time. Due to the nature of antique beads, these will most likely need restringing eventually. I am selling this for the value of the pendant and not the beads. A terrific and collectible piece! |
