This is a RARE RARE RARE art glass fan shaped Czechoslovakian vase that has been in my private collection for about 20 yrs. Never before offered for sale online, the circa 1920s (estimated date) authentic art deco era flared shaped vase measures approximately 8" tall, 8" at its widest point, 1 7/8" wide at the top and 3.5" in diameter at the base.
Stunning is an understatement in describing the striking mottled art glass pattern in hues of black, yellow, orange, and red. It's like a pyschedelic acid trip of polka dots and one of the most special pieces I've ever had of this genre. At the base is the signature "MADE IN CZECHOSLAVAKIA" acid etched onto the bottom. I'm not a glass expert, but I've heard some refer to glass like this also as some sort of "case glass" or "CASED GLASS", but I believe "end-of-the-day" may be more accurate.
Authentic and absolutely wonderful in every way, this vase has a delightful ruffled or wavy lip that has a black border and a nice stable round base. It is MINT...EXCELLENT...no damage or repair, no cracks, nicks, or imperfections. it is top of the line in every way with some natural variations as would be expected in a one-of-a-kind piece of art such as this. A must for any serious collector, I've checked online and have yet to see another Czech piece that rivals this one! |
