Superb vintage piece, circa 1920s-30s. Biscuit barrel or biscuit jar is stamped "MADE IN JAPAN" in black ink. It's about 5 7/8" in diameter and 5" tall with a lovely arched rattan or wicker swivel handle. beautifully hand painted, it has a colorful bird design that repeats twice.
The art pottery piece is as functional as it is lovely. It has no chips or cracks and is vibrant, colorful, and in excellent condition. It has some factory imperfections, only adding character and charm to it. ON the bottom is a little nick that is not on the glazed section and neither detracts nor devalues from the piece. The handle is original and strong too. A perfect addition to any collection! |
