This hooked rug was hand made in the 1930s or 40s in West Virginia. I purchased it from the original owner over 20 years ago and it has never been offered for sale since.
It is petite and I have never had it on the floor to be walked upon. It is as close to being like new as one could imagine.
It measures about 3 feet by 2 feet and is a lovely oval shape. It has a striking black border with colorful flowers all around.
The rug has natural little variations in it, including one red heart shaped petal flower which has one pink heart shaped in it. I am not sure if this was done specifically to stand out or if the person making it just ran out of the red yarn!
No fading, no damage, only a little dust from storage. This is a special rug that is rare and wonderful.
