Straight from a local estate collection is this wonderful vintage pair of screw back earrings (easily converted into pierced by a competent jeweler) from the 1940s or 50s, in my estimation. Measuring approximately 1 1/4" tall by 7/8" wide, these impressive pieces are stamped "SILVER MEXICO" on the backs.
The earrings are comprised of lovely (Sterling) silver designed with nice curvy lines, each with a round cabachon stone gypsy mounted into the center. The stones are a nice green color, and I assume theyr're turquoise, though I guess they could be a sort of jade or jadeite. They are definitely a natural semi precious stone, NOT glass or synthetic.
In excellent, mint to near mint condition, the stones are secure and mechanisms functional. They're free of damage or repair and ready to wear with your silver and turquoise Mexican and Native American Indian jewelry! |
