Just in from a local estate collection exclusively to the internet comes this terrific 14K barpin. Measuring a little under 2" long, this delicate treasure dates back to the 1910s-20s.
The pin is exquisitely designed in yellow gold with some green gold overlay highlighting the sides. It has an early safety clasp and is marked "14K". Classically designed in a lovely style with exquisite craftsmanship, the gorgeous openwork has lovely Nouveau lines with art deco undertones. In the center is a round faceted blue stone bezel set, and though it should be a sapphire, it may be a synthetic...I am not sure.
In nice condition, the pin is not quite perfect. There is one little place where the filigree is in need of two small solders, though it could be left alone and would not ever be noticeable or necessary to repair. The clasp is original and secure, and the pin would accessorize dressy or casual attire. |
