I said I'd never sell these art deco Edwardian transition period celluloid ring presentation boxes, but after closing my shop, I am finally ready to pass this extra special ring box on to the next collector or dealer. Measuring about 3 1/4" by 2 3/4" by 2 1/4" high, this early 1900s jewelry box is marked on the bottom by the manufacturer "WARNER BUFFALO NY". It has the patent number "2250433".
The box is footed and has a floral design that has gold paint for accent. It opens on a hinge to reveal an oval burgundy velvet slot to display a ring. Tiny flowers are carved around the velvet platform.
In excellent condition, the box is free from any damage or repair, and it would be perfect to display rings with the finest of jewels. I paid $35 for this piece over 15 years ago, which is my opening bid! If you want a terrific selling tool, then this display piece would be perfect. |
