From a local estate collection exclusively to the internet comes this terrific art nouveau brooch. Dating back to the early 1900s, the brooch measures approximately 1 5/8" wide by 1" high.
The brooch is absolutely wonderful and I've never had anything quite like it. It looks like it predate the art deco era and has qualities of the art nouveau, Edwardian and art deco periods. What makes this so nice is the unusual mottled green/blue mottled turquoise cabachon oval stone bezel set into the center. The piece is stamped 14K yellow gold on the clasp. The safety is an early pre-1920s safety. I have not tested the piece to see if it is all 14K, but it does not smell brassy or look as if there is any sort of base metal coming thru.
In excellent condition, this unique transition period treasure is all original and ready to wear with your favorite outfit. The stone is securely set into the center, and it has an early safety clasp intact and fully functional. Surely a welcomed addition to the most advanced of collections. |
