This piece came from a collector of fine antiquities and artifacts. I am unsure, however, if this is an extra fine copy made in the past 50 years or so, or if it is truly hand carved from stone and possibly 100s of years old. It feels very cold to the touch as genuine stone would feel and it is quite heavy for its size.
The scarab
It may actually be a century old Grand Tour Egyptian grand tour piece.
The scarab is about 2 1/4" by 1 5/8" by about 1 18" high.

It has exquisite detail on all sides and an open design. There are heiroglyphic type symbols on the bottom.
It is in excellent condition and free from damage or repair.
I welcome any information on this. I may adjust the price based on what I learn about this scarab.
