Measuring approximately 1 1/8" by nearly 5/8", this is an awesome and very special religious medallion or pendant from the 1950s or 60s. Purchased in Europe several years ago, the Virgin Mary Madonna medal is stamped on 800 and 336 VI. The 800 hallmark is a common European mark for silver.
The fine piece has a striking profile in raised relief of the Virgin mother Mary with a rich cobalt enamel finish. The silver seems to be rhodium plated as it is shiny and like new. In excellent condition, this fine retro mid century pendant is ready to hang from a chain as a lovely necklace. I've never seen such a unique example as this...no reserve, so bid now before it gets away! |
