Measuring about 4 1/8" by 3 1/8", this solid sterling silver art deco era cigarette compact case dates to the 1930s or 40s. It is stamped sterling on its sprinig loaded interior bar and has a cursive "L" in front of it. That may be LUNT, but I am not 100% sure. It weighs about 3.7 ounces. At the time of this listing, scrap value alone on this is about $80.
The case has classic machined worked lines over the front and back and the initials "D.G.B" in the center. Those could be buffed off if desired.
While this is a cigarette case, it could be used to hold a few dollars or business cards. It's in good condition with expected wear and surface scratches. The push button clasp is secure and tight, and it is free from any damage or repairs. |
