About 1.2 ounces combined weight, this is a rare art deco era circa 1920s-30s solid sterling silver and enamel round dish ashtray with a matching rectangular match holder. The little ashtray is stamped International Sterling 22 and is about 3" in diameter. The matchbox holder is about 1 1/8" by a tad under 1 3/4".
The diminutive set has a rich green enamel band around the border, matching its match holder. The match holder has its original cardboard matchbox inside, complete with wooden match sticks...VERY cool!
In very good condition, this has never been monogramed and the set is free from damage or repair. It shows minimal wear and is sold in as found condition, unpolished. A fine set for a collector of tobacciana and sterling silver enamelled pieces. |
