This is an excellent mid century retro modern modernist man's wristwatch by Wittnauer Geneva. It is a rare style with a hand hammered style square bezel with a round face. It's marked on the back "10K R.G.P Bezel" and "STAINLESS STEEL BACK". The bezel is about 1 1/8" by 1 1/8". The lugs are about 17mm apart. I estimate this to date to the 1950s or so.
The watch has a clean white face with small diamonds at the 3, 9, and 12 marks. It has a second hand in a small dial at the 6 O' Clock area. An inexpensive black leather band is intact and usable, though easily replaced if desired.
This highly desireable man's wristwatch is in excellent running condition, though I never guarantee watches due to the fact that ALL eventually need regular maintainance. Handsome and elegant, other than some minor scratches on the crystal, it is in near mint condition with no damage or repair. EXCELLENT collectible piece! A local collector has told me that this watch would easily bring between $275 and $400 at current watch shows. |
