I am not too savvy regarding items like this so bear with me. I was told that this is a good piece that has some age to it, probably at least from the late 1800s. The lovely decorative piece is about 8 1/4" in diameter and 3 3/4" deep. It has a pedestal type base that's 3 1/2" in diameter.
The bowl is blue and white with an awesome scenic design in an airbrush style with abstract trees and mountains. The outside also has a nice design to it. I'm not sure if this is Chinese or Japanese, and I'd welcome information on it. It's quite lovely and would compliment blue and white flo blue or other porcelain.
There are no marks on it, so I'd bet it was considered a higher end piece and not a tourist item. It's in very beautiful condition with one hairline on the side just shy on an inch long and a litle chunk off the bottom pedestal that cannot be noticed at all when displayed...I've included photos to show this piece and I'd rate it a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest. This is an important collector's piece that would compliment the finest of decors. |
