This is an impressive piece with fine detail and loads of character. Though unmarked and in need of a hinge and pinback, I was told that this is an original and highly sought after "THIEF of BAGDAD" collectible from the movie of the same name from the early 1940s. I am not and expert and would welcome more concrete information about this Alladin type piece.
Made of a silver tone metal that is not sterling, but maybe pewter, the highly detailed figural measures about 2 1/2" tall. It has a nice patina and shows gentle use, not abuse. The spendid male figure wears middle eastern attire with a turban style hat and curled up shoes. He has a hand on his hip and one in the air with an expressive look on his face.
The weight is heavy, realistic depiction quite nice, and overall condition terrific with the exception of the hinged pinback missing. This would be fairly easily restored by a compentant jeweler who can cold solder base metals.

My jeweler charged about $5 to $7 for a job like this, but unfortunately he is no longer in my area.
Whether truly from the famous movie or just a fabulous three dimensional figural, this piece is an excellent vintage brooch sure to be a prize of any collection!
