VERY RARE! Natural tightly woven straw widebrim hat measuring approximately 15.5" in diameter with a 5-5.5" wide brim. Dating to the 1930s or 40s, the WWII era hat has a dark brown grossgrain band that has a little ribbon tie on the back. The inside circumference of the crown is about 19,5" around. It's meant to be worn a the crown of the head. The hat originally had a somewhat yellow cream color which has faded and aged well over the years.
The hat has is tightly woven and is in EXCELLENT condition, no damage, no repair, though it has some minimal soiling from storage...nothing detracting or devaluing. The band can be replaced if desired, though I love the originality and overall look of this fine hat! A really cool and wonderful widerbim hat! |
