This is the Doubleday Doran and Co., Garden City, 1932. Hardcover. Measures approximately 5¾" - 8" tall. First US edition, first printing. Navy blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and decorations on spine and front board. Some wear on spine cloth and board top edges but all gilt intact and bright; dustjacket with some edgewear. Front and back boards of the book do have some discoloration on the surface which does not extend to the interior of the book. Photos should illustrate the condition accurately. The gilt highlighting of the spine is bright. Book is tight and in good condition; I believe this dustjacket is called a Durafold mylar cover and it is in good condition for its age. From what I could find on the internet, the US edition is much less common than the UK edition and the US limited issue of 250 de luxe copies which preceded it. Please note that I am NOT a book dealer. This book has been my keeper for MANY years. I have not done anything to clean it up or restore it in any way. This is sold as is and I encourage you to ask questions if you have them PRIOR to bidding. I went to abe books and this particular edition sells for between $700 and $2000...Thanks! |
