Paul Wissaert (born in Brussels/Belgium in 1885) is the son of the medallist Francois Wissaert. First he studied in Brussels under F. Dubois, Dillens and Van der Stappen, later he pursued his artistic studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Chaplain. In 1908 he visited Italy and studied in Florence. In 1908 Wissaert received his first prizes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and in a competition of the Société des Amis de la Médaille. |
