This lovely rich cobalt blue swirl akro agate or slag glass marble gear shift knob was purchased over 20 years ago in West Virginia. It measures a tad shy of 2 1/4" in diameter with an opening for a fitting of nearly 7/8" across. The shifter has some factory imperfections which are to be expected. I would rate it as in excellent condition.I believe it was manufactured by the Houze Glass Company in Pennsylvania, which closed down permanently about 3 yrs ago. This is an authentic art deco era slag glass style shifter that was never used.
Thousands of these were uncovered at the time and all were new-old stock. I saved a few of my favorites and for the first time ever, decided to offer them for sale online. |
