To date, very little research has been available for antique dealers and collectors on the subject of celluloid. The need for a historically accurate work on the material was the inspiration that led Keith Lauer and Julie Robinson to produce this comprehensive collector's guide. Yet little is known about its development and its impact on society as the first commercially successful plastic substitute for more expensive materials.
