This antique sheet music book is in good condition and completely intact. The binding is still tight with only the first page loose. We are unsure if it had a cover. The book is titled Water Scenes, 5 pieces for the Piano forte BY Ethelbert Nevion, Opus 13. The 5 pieces are Dragon Fly, Ophelia, Water Nymph, Narcissus and Barcarolle. It was published by The Boston Music Co., Copyright, 1891 by G. Schimmer Jr. The cover says it cost Pr. N. $1.25. (A Lot of Money Back Then) It is 28 pages and has 2 pages which are actually teasers with only 1 bar of music to each segment of 2 other Nevin Opus’. The back cover is a price guide for Nevin’s Opus 2 through 21 and designated for one voice, choruses, piano solos, piano 4 hands and piano & violin.

This is 45 pieces for pianoforte in 2 volumes by Norway’s greatest composer Edvard Hagerup Grieg. He was born in 1843 and died 1907. This sheet music was published in 1902 by G. Schirmer, New York. It is volumes 106 and 107 of Schirmer’s Library of Musical Classics Selected, edited and fingered by Louis Oesterle. Volume 1 contains a biographical sketch by Richard Aldrich. This book was copyrighted in 1902 and the renewal was assigned to G. Schirmer when 1929 comes. Inside back cover is an ad for Schirmer’s scholastic series and back cover is the list of musical classics. The front cover is missing but otherwise all pages are intact and the book is tightly bound.
