5051
Colored Glassware of the Depression Era ID Book, Hazel Marie Weatherman Known as HMW 1, this is one of two must-have books on Depression glass for dealers and collectors (the second is HMW Volume 2). Included are 78 major patterns discussed in depth with piece listings, plus 321 additional patterns pictured and summarized. There are lots of other books on the subject now of course, but I'm always amazed at how often I find one of my "unknowns" in the pages of this book after I've looked in vain through all the others. It happened again just now as I'm writing this - I flipped to a page that showed a set of green salt and pepper shakers I've owned for three years but could never find in my various shaker books!

Colored Glassware of the Depression Era by Hazel Marie Weatherman. 1970 Sixth Printing, Weatherman Glassbooks. Hardcover, 238 pages, b/w photographs plus 21 pages in color , 6" by 8-1/4". Chipped dust jacket has been protected from further wear with mylar jacket cover. End papers and flyleaf have minor foxing. Random small ink check marks or circled item numbers in a few of the pattern listings. Book is in otherwise good condition with undamaged spine, no tears. Media mail shipping is available, please inquire.

5045
1922 Montgomery Ward Catalog Reprint 1969 Hardcover Book This heavy, oversize hardcover book is a reprint of the 1922 Montgomery Ward Golden Jubilee catalog. It was their 97th catalog, celebrating 50 years in business. There were 670 pages of merchandise, all reprinted in the book exactly as they appeared in the original catalog. "Monkey Wards" as my Mom called them sold everything - clothing, furs, shoes, domestics and linens, tools, luggage, jewelry, personal care items, hardware, musical instruments, toys, furniture, horse saddles, farm equipment, appliances large and small, every type of household item imaginable, and yes, even the proverbial kitchen sink.

The book is an excellent research tool for collectors and dealers of just about anything available to consumers in the early 1920s. There's a thorough index so you can easily find what you're looking for. The book measures 9-1/2" by 13-1/2". The pages are printed on paper made to resemble the original catalog pages, with intentional darkening at the edges. The paper dust jacket has quite a bit of edge wear, but it's done its job of protecting the book itself - it's in very good condition with no damage or wear.

USA shipping is calculated at flat rate Priority plus insurance but media mail (much slower delivery) is available at $7.50. Specify when ordering if you want media. Be sure to choose Priority shipping only, NOT Parcel. Will not ship this item internationally.

5046
American Copper & Brass Book By Henry J. Kauffman This is a good reference book for collectors of antique copper and brass produced in this country in the 1700s and 1800s. Unlike most modern collector or ID books, you won't be able to flip through this book until you find a picture of your item and determine the value and who made it. But if you read the book, you'll have a much broader knowledge of early American coppersmiths and their work and should be able to determine authentic wares more easily. The book discusses the types of copper and brass items produced and their production methods, and provides documented lists of coppersmiths and brass founders.

American Copper & Brass by Henry J. Kauffman. Copyright 1968 Bonanza Books, Crown Publishers New York. Hardcover, 288 pages, black/white photos and illustrations, 7-1/4" by 10-1/4". Dustjacket. Ex-Library with typical library markings. Good condition, no problems, minor wear. Media mail shipping is available, please inquire.
